Terms of Use
Effective October 1, 2026 · Version 2026-10-01
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the If You Please RSVP, seating, and check-in platform (the “Service”). By creating an account, accepting an organization invite, creating or administering a Tenant organization, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
The Service helps organizations manage corporate and similar events: guest lists, RSVPs, seating, dietary collection for catering, notifications, exports, and check-in. Features may change as we improve the product.
2. Accounts and roles
You must provide accurate account information and keep credentials confidential. Tenant administrators are responsible for inviting teammates with appropriate roles and for promptly disabling access when someone leaves. Platform administrators may create and suspend organizations as needed to operate the Service.
3. Tenant responsibilities
If you manage an organization on the Service, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization and that you will comply with the Tenant Data Use Agreement, including that guest and related personal information will be used only to manage events through the Service as designed — not sold, and not used for unrelated marketing.
You are responsible for the lawfulness of your guest lists, invitation content, SMS/email messaging (including CASL consent where applicable), dietary notices, and retention or deletion requests for your events.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, deceptive, or harmful purposes;
- Upload or process personal information you are not authorized to collect or use;
- Sell, rent, or use Service data for advertising or marketing outside the event purpose;
- Attempt to access another Tenant’s data or circumvent role restrictions;
- Probe, scan, or disrupt the Service, or reverse engineer it except where permitted by law;
- Send SMS or email through the Service without required consent or contrary to applicable anti-spam law; or
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when RSVPing or administering events.
5. Guest submissions
Guests provide information voluntarily to respond to an invitation. Dietary information is collected for catering coordination and is not a guarantee of allergen-safe preparation. Guests should contact the organizer with concerns.
6. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the Service you acknowledge that policy.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, remains owned by If You Please or its licensors. Tenants retain rights in their own guest lists and event content, subject to the license needed for us to host and process that content to provide the Service.
8. Availability and disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, If You Please and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service is limited to the fees paid for the Service in the twelve months before the claim (or CAD $100 if no fees were paid).
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, security risk, non-payment (if applicable), or legal requirements. You may stop using the Service at any time. Surviving provisions include ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and Tenant data-use obligations for data already collected.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless your deployment agreement specifies otherwise. Courts in Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections that cannot be waived.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a new version. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where we require explicit re-acceptance (for example for Tenant legal version upgrades).
13. Contact
Contact the platform operator that hosts your If You Please deployment.
These Terms are an operational template and should be reviewed by legal counsel before production use.
